VIDEO PRODUCTION
Video Production is a broad term used to describe the concept of conveying a story to an audience. There are multiple elements to Video Production; the first being the storyboard.
Every popular tv show, movie, YouTube video has a storyboard. What are you trying to convey? The storyboard includes the script, layout and notes of what the director’s vision is for the film. The second stage in Video Production is the filming. This stage is the most important. The entire film is dependant on this stage. When filming, it is important that everyone knows their roles. There is the director, videographers, lighting team, set designers, and more.
The final stage of Video Production is the editing. Editors work with the director to create the final product of the film. Throughout the editing process, editors utilize their tools to adjust, cut and blend clips until the director is satisfied.
PREMIERE PRO
Made by Adobe, Premiere Pro is a video editing software released in 1991, available on both Mac and Windows. The software revolves around the timeline, seen at the bottom of the screen. This is where you are able to see your audio, video, text & visuals, length of the video and much more. It’s the control panel of premiere pro. Premiere is easy to pick up, but difficult to progress. Anyone can insert clips into their timeline and make a video, but to make something special, it takes a lot more.
Creators often integrate other Adobe software into their Premiere Pro creations, for example, Adobe After Effects. After Effects serves the purpose of its name, creating special effects to enhance the quality of the video. Premiere is very popular among youtube. Some of the platform’s biggest creators use it, such as Pewdiepie, SMOSH and Good Mythical Morning.
FINAL CUT PRO
Made and sold by Apple, Final Cut Pro is one of the major professional editing software competing in the film industry. This software was made in 2009 and has offered free updates to the newer version ever since. Similar to Adobe, the software revolves around the timeline but offers a more user-friendly experience. The software allows you to see all of the basic visuals such as audio, text, and video, but it also offers popular transitions, pre-created effects, and backgrounds as well as text formats and positions which saves the user the hassle of creating their own.
If you do want to create your own visuals, effects, and transitions, Apple offers another program called Motion. Motion allows you to create anything as its main purpose is to enhance your production by giving you the freedom to all of the tools available in softwares today.
